How the Birth Date field syncs

Currently, if Birth Date is populated in ResearchPoint, but NOT populated in Raiser's Edge... when the sync occurs, the Birth Date is wiped from the ResearchPoint record and cannot be found in EITHER system. This is extremely frustrating for us. We purchased the Healthcare Bundle, so we're getting a lot of great data like that from the import process, and need it to sync over to Raiser's Edge if it's not already populated there. It makes no sense that a good piece of data like that is totally wiped from both systems when the sync occurs.

    Admin response

In our Q2 2019 release, we updated how Birth Date syncs. If RE has no birth date and RP does, the RP birth date will remain. If creating a record in RE from RP, the birth date in RP will be brought over to RE.

Yes - I read this earlier today and can see where this is occurring. I never want an integration that is supposed to make data transfer easier to remove data that you've imported. This will be addressed.

    Hey Julie

I am assuming that means that it is planned to be fixed in an upgrade.

Thank you, Rachel. The status of the post was recently changed to"Planned". What does that mean?

    HI Julie,

I had no idea that was happening until your post so thank you!  To half solve your problem you can turn off the birth date sync in RP so at least if the birth date is in RP it will not be wiped out.  It is under Raisers Edge integration, configure fields in RP.  Unfortunately that does not solve the problem of syncing biographical info from RP to RE.

    Hope that helps.
